Although there are ideological and moral issues that divide us, we believe in a policy free of demagogues and extremists. Our commitment to democracy, civility and respect for what is different is non-negotiable.
In a context of deep social, economic, political, moral, and educational crisis, a fertile ground is created for the appearance of populist politicians of any ideology and we must be vigilant not to repeat mistakes that have already been widely cataloged in our history.
Populist campaigns are often associated with fanaticism and attempts to impose styles and ways of life, as well as the radical denial of prevailing values. Extremism, coupled with unilateralism, results in a complete closure to dialogue and negotiation.
In times like these, dialogue and the strengthening of democracy is the only possible way out of this crisis. We defend the construction of a free, fair and solidary society, without prejudices of origin, sex, race, color, age, sexual orientation and any other forms of discrimination, so we signed this manifesto rejecting the candidacy of Jair Bolsonaro to the presidency of the Republic of Brazil.
Where are we?
